Alex Huang Captures First Place in ACAMIS Golf

The 2017 ACAMIS Golf Championships saw over 60 athletes from top international schools from all over China, Macau, and Taiwan compete in a two day tournament. First up was a best ball match where each golfer had an opportunity to play with someone from another school. The winning team was an incredible - 11 with UISGs own Alex Huang leading the way for his team. Up next were two individual rounds of 18 holes. After the first day Alex found himself 2 strokes back of the tournament leader with the top duo shooting a 73 and 75. On the final day Alex stormed back firing a blistering 4 under par 68, by far the best round of the tournament. Alex became one of the youngest champions in ACAMIS golf history. It truly was a remarkable achievement. Congratulations goes to Asly Yang who won the longest drive award and carded a strong 89 on the final day and finished in 8th overall place. Raymond Diao had competitive rounds of 90 and 85 (12th place) while Hansen Hu showcased his consistency by shooting 91 and 89 (14th place). Overall we are extremely proud of the way our golfers played and represented UISG.
