Ben Lin

Bachelor of Laws (Honours) - University of Bristol

Ben graduated from Utahloy International School Zengcheng (UISZ) in 2016 as valedictorian and is currently pursuing a law degree at Bristol University in the United Kingdom. He has previously worked as a legal secretary at two law firms and plans to qualify as a solicitor in London after graduation.

Ben has extensive experience in running student societies, having founded the Model U.N. programme at UISZ and serving, on the Student Council and his university law society - where he went on to win multiple national awards in the U.K.

Currently as the Chair, Ben oversees the preliminary setup of the Utahloy Alumni Association with his team. His plans and vision for the UAA include expanding the association through electronic marketing via LinkedIn, Facebook and a newly refurbished website database; drafting the articles of association; and working with the UEF to integrate Year 11 and Year 12 students into the platform, enabling them to connect with fellow graduates across the globe.

Bryan graduated from Utahloy International School Zengcheng (UISZ) in 2015 as valedictorian and is currently pursuing a business degree at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. He has previously worked at The Kempinski in Vienna and IMD Business School in Lausanne. With a passion for events management and football, Bryan plans to work in the international football industry after graduation.

Bryan has a wealth of experience with student societies, having sat as the Chair of the Student Council at UISZ and been appointed as School Captain. At university, he is currently the President of EHL’s Football Committee.

As the Deputy Chair, Bryan assists the Chairman in setting up the preliminary structure of UAA. In a profile he has written, he has expressed gratitude towards the people at UIS “who have taught, guided and shaped” him and wishes to take this opportunity to sincerely give back to the UIS community.

Alice Dabin Lee

Dabin is a year 12 senior at UISG. She is currently pursuing her IBDP and plans to obtain a degree in Economics or Media & Communication in either Hong Kong or Korea.

Dabin has experience with student societies, having organised the first TEDx conference at UISG and led marketing teams of Animal Welfare and Eco-Roots. She also wrote for the Howl, a student digital newspaper in UISG.

As the Deputy Chair, Dabin plans to assist the Chairman in setting up the structure of UAA and overseeing UAA activities and events.

Alice Zhang

Alice graduated from Utahloy Internatioal School Zengcheng (UISZ) in 2016 and is currently pursuing her Bachelors in finance at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. After graduation, she plans to forge a career in investment banking in Hong Kong. Alice has a wealth of experience with student communities. At UISZ, she assumed the leadership positions of House Captain and Boarding House Head Girl. She also participated in the Cobras Sports Team, and Model U.N. as president for extracurricular activities.

Githikka Karamchandani

Githikka is a Year 12 senior at UISG. She is currently studying towards her International Baccalaureate Diploma and plans to pursue a degree in advertising in a university in North Amercia.

Utahloy has been Githikka’s home for more than 13 years and she has joined the board of the UAA to take up the role of Treasurer.

Zachary Haver

Major in International Affairs and Chinese - George Washington University

Zachary attended Utahloy International School Zengcheng(UISZ) from 2010 till 2013 before moving back to the U.S.

He is currently pursuing a degree in International Affairs and Chinese at the George Washington University in Washington DC. At university, Zachary is an undergraduate research fellow and specialises in U.S.-China relations. He has experience working for the prominent ‘Think Tank’ and at a political consulting firm.

He plans to pursue a career with the US government where he hopes to influence policies relating to China.

Zachary attributes his interest in foreign relations to his time spent at UISZ, where he learned to collaborate with numerous international students from across the globe.

As the Secretary, Zachary aides the committee in administrative tasks, assisting both the Chairman and the Deputy Chair in connecting students with alumni globally.

Audrienne Ow

Audrienne is a Year 12 senior at UISG. She is currently pursuing her IBDP and plans to study Psychology or Biology at university.

As the Secretary, Audrienne works with the team to recruit current and previous students to the alumni association. In her capacity, she also assists in the organisation of alumni events.

Julie Yang

Bachelor of Laws (Honours) - University of Bristol

Julie graduated as valedictorian from Utahloy International School Zengcheng (UISZ) in 2016 and obtained her law degree with honours at Bristol University in 2017. She is currently studying for the New York Bar Exam in 2019 and plans to qualify as a New York attorney at law. After which, she will pursue a Master’s degree in international relations in the U.S.

Previously, Julie has worked as a legal secretary at various law firms and shadowed a criminal barrister. With a wealth of experience and skills, Julie complements the committee with her maturity, critical thinking and strong organisational skills.

In her capacity as the Registrar, Julie assists the executive committee in internal documentation, administrative tasks and review of the UAA structure.

Kirill Rusin

Kirill is currently in his last year at UISG and will graduate in 2019 with the intent of pursuing a career in Psychology and/or Theatre.

As the Registrar, he plans to promote the UAA and help it become a more prominent feature within the UIS community. He wishes to continue to work alongside the association after graduation.

Galvin Chan

Bachelor of Science (Electrical Systems) - University of Melbourne

Galvin attended Utahloy International School Zengcheng (UISZ) between 2012 to 2014 before migrating with his family to Australia. He is currently undergoing a Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Melbourne. After graduation, Galvin plans to pursue a Master’s in Electrical Engineering in the U.S.

Galvin has experience in multiple student communities. During his high school years, he was an integral part of Utahloy and his school in Adelaide – holding leadership positions in both. In UISZ, he was a committee chair for the inaugural Model U.N. programme, and was a prefect for the boarding house.

As the Social Media Facilitator, Galvin plans to create and advertise promotional material for the UAA, whilst making sure graduates and, past and present staff members of Utahloy are always informed of UAA events.

Gultan Abdinova

Gultan is a Year 12 senior at Utahloy International School Guangzhou. She is currently pursuing her IBDP and plans to obtain her degree in International Politics and International Relations in China.

As the Press Secretary, Gultan is responsible for developing and maintaining UAA’s social media platforms and strategic marketing.
