Please note the following:

  1. Currency & Payment
    • All fees are quoted in RMB only. Currency exchange rates are set on the date of issue of the invoice.
    • Any bank charges related to the payment must be paid by the parent. The school must receive the full amount of the school fee.
    • Payment cannot be made in cash. Payment must be into one of the listed bank accounts
    • Monthly payments-An agreement can be made but special circumstances apply and must be agreed to and signed by both parties.
    • Any outstanding payments must be paid before provision of Year Book, annual reports and other official documentation.
  2. Due Dates
    • Semester payments are due by September 18th 2007 and by January 15th,2008
  3. Registration Fee - Current Students
    • A Registration Fee for current students applies each year in May. This is to confirm placement for the next year and is non-refundable but will be deducted from the first semester bill.
  4. Confirmation Fee - New Students
    • A Confirmation fee for new students applies on receipt of confirmation of enrolment.
    • This must be paid to ensure the place you are being offered is kept for your child.
    • The fee is the equivalent of one month’s fees and is non-refundable.
  5. 4. ESL Fees
    • ESL payments are included in the semester account for those undertaking ESL lessons.
    • A student doing ESL pays for a full semester.
    • Students advised that they must enroll in the ESL Centre can only take their place on signing an agreement to enter the ESL Centre.
  6. Text Book Hire Fee
    • Secondary students must pay a text book hire fee.
    • This is included in the fee.
  7. Student Requirements
    • Students must have their own dictionary.
    • Secondary students and Middle school students must have their own calculators. The specific types are advised.
  8. Non-Payment Of Fees - Late Payments
    In the case of late payments:
    • the parent will be notified one week after the payment is due that it is late and should be paid.
    • If the payment is made within one month after it was due, no penalty will operate.
    • If the payment is more than one month late, a 2% penalty will be applied.
    • If the payment is two months late, the Head will immediately call the parent for interview, or if this is not possible write to the parent with a final warning.
    • For non-payment a student’s place will be declared vacant by the Head and the Utahloy Education Office.
    • No reports-statements-transcripts-year books or student books will be supplied to a student whose fees have not been paid.
  9. Method Of Payment
    • Payment is by Telegraphic transfer, bank draft, cheque, personal deposit into our accounts or by internet transfers.
    • Any bank charges must be paid by parent. The school must receive the full amount of the school fee.
    • Full account details are attached.
    • Payments in cash cannot  be accepted
  10. Refunds
    • Tuition fee only can be refunded for quarters of absence. If the student commences a quarter no refund is available.
    • In cases of community or civil emergency the UEF will advise of refund policy.
  11. Lunches
    Families may choose to order lunches on a fully paid basis. A form is attached for that option. The lunch fee will then be shown on your fees statement. (this will be done in August each year)
  12. Stationery
    Secondary students will be given an initial stationery pack. After that students must provide or buy subsequent packs.
  13. School Bus Costs
    Students living within the city limits have their bus costs included in the fees. Students outside the city pay an additional 3000rmb per semester.
  14. School Bus Costs
    • Each student will be provided with one summer and one winter uniform on payment of fees.
    • Additional sets must be purchased through the Purchasing department (Ext. 111)

Enrolment Notice - Secondary School Enrolment

  1. All students presenting for enrolment in Grades 5 - 10 must sit our English Entry Test
  2. Students who do not attain Level 5 in the English Entry Test may be offered a place in the Language Centre (subject to availability)
  3. A place in the Language Centre guarantees a mainstream place when the student attains Level 5. Parents and students may not ask for earlier entry to mainstream
  4. Grade 10 enrolment in the Language Centre is discouraged
  5. In general, students must study English for 4 years to be able to sit for the IBDP or school diploma in Year 12
