The study of Mathematics aims to give students an appreciation of the usefulness, power and beauty of the subject. The language of Mathematics enables people to model events and situations, and provides a key to understanding the world in which we live. A study of Mathematics also provides the opportunity to study the language of the subject for its own sake.
