Health Education

The Health Education course strives to increase students' knowledge of health concepts, life management skills, and habits that can facilitate lifelong health for the individual and for others.
 

The Health education programme aims to provide students with the opportunity to:

  • raise self-esteem and self-reliance to contribute to raised achievement and attainment
  • adopt safe practices to ensure personal safety, security and well-being as well as in the environment of young people
  • explore the physical, social, emotional and intellectual changes that occur and the inherited and environmental factors that influence health and development
  • examine the developmental changes that drugs can have on our well being
  • encourage an increase in physical exercise, promoting healthy relationships and good sexual health
  • understand the role of families and wider community in our lives
  • identify a range of challenges to maintaining optimal health and development for youth.
