PE - Overview

The curriculum has been designed to provide learning experiences that will help students realise their potential in life and aims to provide them with the opportunity to:

  • understand the importance of physical fitness, health, and well-being and the factors that contribute to them
  • make a personal commitment to regular vigorous physical activity and positive health behaviours
  • acquire the basic movement skills and creative/expressive skills they require to participate in physical activities throughout their lives.
  • understand and apply strategies and tactics to a range of team sports and games
  • develop social skills such as communication and cooperation in order to become effective members of teams and groups
  • demonstrate the high level of personal engagement required to improve in a range of activities
