EY Celebrating CNY

On 7 February, the Early Years students performed various Chinese songs on stage for our Chinese New Year celebrations. Dressed in Chinese traditional costumes the children drummed, danced with grace, performed Chinese Kung Fu and our K3 students recited a beautiful Chinese poem. We also celebrated the Korean new year by having our Korean EY students dressed in their traditional costumes and performed a lovely song for us. Our TAs and some Class Reps came on stage for a singalong towards the end.

Following the performances everyone headed back to their classroom to begin a rotation of inquiry activities geared for children’s age level. Our Chinese TAs spent the initial five minutes to explain to the children and parents how the activity is connected to the Chinese cultural context.

A shared luncheon prepared by our Chinese parents brought everyone together. What a feast! It was a day to remember!
