French Field Trip (Sep 2018)

29 September, 2018

On Tuesday 25th September, our French B phase 1,2 class went to the Perma Bakery located in Castle Hill. We were lucky enough to get to see how the kitchen worked, and how classical French bread is made.

There were four key steps:

  1. Mix all the ingredients.
  2. Leave the dough to ferment
  3. Shape the dough
  4. Bake the dough

After all this information we got FOOD!!!! It was very delicious. Be got to try two slices of baguette, a slice of fromage, a lot of beurre, two different types of saucisson, slice of tarte aux myrtilles and the cutest pickle ever called cornichon. We thought it was soooooo good. After we got to taste this French delicacy we got the chance to buy some pain. There were many options, including canelés, croissants, baguettes, pain au raisins and more. By the end of the field trip, our class was all fed with food and knowledge!
