If not me, who? If not now, when?
Yesterday, eight students participated in a House Spelling Bee. The 100 words created a connection between High School language arts and SAT vocabulary.
Over the past two months, class Spelling Bees have gathered momentum. Year 7 and 9 Phase 5 and 6 students have been learning spellings connected to their class readers. Why? In Language Acquisition, Criterion D: refers to writing and speaking effectively using a range of vocabulary.
So, it was really good to see confident spellers standing out yesterday by their English classrooms. All students who participated won a House point. The outstanding student who won the Spelling Bee is Inuk (Harry) Lee. Bonus House points and a certificate of achievement are coming to you. Way to go Harry! Way to go Tigers!
