辞旧迎新 恭贺新年 | 誉德莱鼠年春节晚宴圆满落幕 Utahloy Spring Festival Gala Review
On the evening of January 10, 2020, to mark the beginning of the Gengzi Rat Year, Utahloy International School Guangzhou and Zengcheng Campus jointly put on a unique and fascinating Chinese New Year Party.
The Spring Festival Gala was held in the school's multi-function hall. The exquisite stage design, featuring gold and red as the main tones, immersed the dinner in a cheerful and peaceful atmosphere. To warm applause, Ms. Wong Sung King Dorothy, the chairman of Utahloy Education Foundation, delivered the opening speech for the gala, in which she acknowledged the hard work of the staff during the previous year. Ms. Wong also expressed her ardent hopes for and good wishes to all faculty members of UISG and UISZ in the new year.
The whole evening program was exciting and colorful, with a resplendent multi-cultural themed program throughout. The Chinese New Year Gala kicked off with an exquisite lion dance performance. Next, Chinese and foreign employees dressed in traditional Chinese costume, typical for Chinese New Year celebrations, launched into a magnificent Chinese drum performance. The startling percussion of the drums conveyed a magnificent sense of the sound and atmosphere of the Chinese New Year. Foreign teachers gave a lively and dynamic performance of an adaptation from the well know musical "Mamma Mia"; a colleague from the Zengcheng campus sang a solo of a popular hit and Chinese and foreign members from the Guangzhou campus performed a duet of sentimental love songs. The lingering music of the instrumental ensemble and the melodious and beautiful vocals produced an intoxicating effect. An ensemble of Guzheng, flute and piano combined with "Chinese and Western" reflected beautifully the multicultural aspect of the program for the event. At the dinner, various forms of literary and artistic works were viewed in turn, and rounds of cross-cultural dialogue took place. With the announcement of the biggest prizes for the night, the party reached its crescendo.
The happy time was fleeting however, and the dinner was successfully concluded by the Head of Schools from the two campuses.
The successful holding of the Gala New Year's Dinner was down to the concerted efforts of all the employees of the two campuses. We hope that in the new year we will continue to work together to do brilliantly!
