A team of 11 Middle School badminton players participated in the PRC Tournament in Shenzhen last Saturday. It was a friendly tournament, so a good opportunity to develop stamina and technique. The team were accompanied by Se Young (David) who fulfils his DP CAS learning well, as an assistant coach.
I asked the team how they thought their games. They described some highlights, which we want to share with family and friends:
"It's my birthday, so I really enjoyed the badminton tournament!" - YoonYeong (Gordon) Jeong
"I hit the birdie so high, it got stuck in the light, which is very lucky!' - Wonwoo Kim
"I liked playing badminton with new friends." - Kim Soo (Flora) In
"I learned new skills from other teams." - Jeong Hoon Lee
The team played 31 games, and played on court from 9am - 4pm which is a substantial increase in their weekly training practice. The 'friendly' boosted confidence ahead of the next tournament on November 11th.
Special thanks to the parents of YoonYeong (Gordon) Jeong for sending cookies and milk. It was appreciated!
