UEF Chair meeting Alumni Students in Toronto, Canada
23 October, 2018
The Utahloy Alumni Association (UAA) was founded in 2015. The original objectives of the UAA are to strengthen the bond between Utahloy graduates from around the world, to embrace the Utahloy spirit and to serve the community.
On Friday October 19, the UEF Chair, Mrs. Dorothy Wong, had dinner with two Alumni students in Toronto, Canada. Mr Roger Wheelock, UEF advisor, also joined the dinner. Mrs. Wong was amazed to see them enjoy to study hard, complete volunteer work for the society and stay close with their families.
Darren Chan graduated in 2016 from UISG and he is studying Life Sciences at the University of Toronto. He said that meeting with Dorothy and Roger brought to his attention the importance of a strong international alumni association. With all diverse backgrounds, the Utahloy alumni association provides a key platform for discourse- bridging the geographical and generational barriers that separate students after graduation.
Michael Wu graduated in 2014 from UISG and he is studying Life Sciences at the University of Toronto. Michael said that, as an Utahloy alumni, it was an amazing experience to meet with Dorothy again and Roger for the first time. Their genuine care in hearing about their diverse stories and constant encouragements makes him appreciate how far he has progressed because of this school.
