Conference's Aim and Background Information

In the second "New Frontier" International Chinese Teaching Immersion Conference will continue to adhere to and develop the diversified, in-depth and cutting-edge approach of last year’s conference. We have invited leading experts and experienced speakers to share their knowledge and views concerning "frontier" teaching concepts and methods as they relate to the teaching of Chinese in the context of international education, and to break the logjam of conventional thinking to enable high quality Chinese language teaching in a multilingual school environment. The context in which international education operates is changing constantly and with each passing day our teaching practices face new challenges. The introduction of concepts such as drama-based teaching and inquiry-based learning has created more possibilities for the presentation of Chinese teaching.
The 2020 Chinese Conference will be held in Guangzhou Southern China. It aims to provide a highly diversified and first-class communication development platform for Chinese language educators around the world, providing information about and opportunities for new directions and approaches to Chinese teaching.
The Conference organisers have invited more than ten very senior Chinese language teachers from across China to share their forward-looking teaching philosophies with participants. The Conference will focus on primary and secondary Chinese teaching. Bilingual and international education are important fields in the lectures as well. The topics are: the approaches to the study of literary works; the application and practice of drama as a teaching method, whole book reading and analysis；In-depth discussion on non-native Chinese reading comprehension training; students' actual communication skills and the design of teaching activities.
The "Frontier" is the core theme of our conference, and "Depth" is our goal with respect to its content. Senior contributors from far and wide will be bringing us some of the most forward looking "frontier" teaching method and concepts from around the world. We hope that this Conference will assist more teachers to put aside some less effective traditional ideas and bring their teaching practice forward to the "frontier".
第二届“前沿”国际中文教学深度研讨会秉承首届会议的多元、深度、前沿的追求，广邀各地资深主讲嘉宾，分享国际“前沿”教学理念与方法；打破固化思维，实现优质的国际中文教学。
国际教育形势日新月异，我们的教学实践面临新的挑战。情景戏剧化教学，探究式学习等教育方式的引进，给中文教学的呈现方式带来更多可能。本次会议将立足华南，旨在为全球中文教育工作者提供一个多元化、 一流水准的交流发展平台，为中文教学提供一个新的方向。
会议邀请了众多资深一线教师分享前瞻的教学理念。母语教学是本次大会的焦点关注内容。在中学部分，戏剧教学法，整本书阅读，文本的分析与写作是本次大会的热议话题。除此之外，非母语的阅读理解训练以及教学活动的设计也是大会的探讨的关键。另外，小学的中文教学也是本次大会的重要环节。主讲嘉宾将重点关注母语课堂和双语课堂教学策略方法。幼儿教育和小学非母语课堂的话题也必不可少。
“前沿”是我们会议的核心主题，“深度”是我们对于内容的执着追求。远道而来的资深主讲人给我们带来了国际最“前沿”教学方法理念；而我们也希望通过此次研讨会的举办，让更多教学者能够搁置一些传统理念，来一场“前沿”的学术交流，满载而归。
