Co-Curricular Activities

After school activities are designed to enhance the development of the whole child, and provide an extension to the main school curriculum. The activities are designed using multiple intelligences, the interests of the students and the expertise of the teaching staff and therefore what is offered enables the students to pursue personal interests, develop new skills and knowledge or explore different aspects of learning. The philosophy of the IB PYP will be extended into this after school programme and students will be able to continue developing the various aspects of the IB Learner Profile and PYP Attitudes.

 

Organization

• After School Activities will operate from 3.20 – 4.20pm each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon

• School buses will not leave UISZC until 4.30pm on afternoons when activities will be running

• It is compulsory for all students from  G1 – G6 to participate in these activities

• Activities will be run by the Primary Teaching staff

• There will be separate activities on Tuesday’s and Thursdays and these activities will run for a period of four to six weeks, after which a new range of options will be made available

Options

The Primary Teaching staff will provide a range of options, which may include; Science Club, Touch Typing, Football, Basketball, Board Games, Origami, Swimming, Gardening Club, to name but a few.

 

Prior to each round of activities, a list of possible After School Cubs will be sent home so that Parents and Students can jointly choose the activities they would like to participate in.
