Next week on Wednesday 20th September, we will be celebrating Peace Day which is an annual event observed around the world. It is a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples and as such, is considered an important day at our international school.
The theme for 2017 is “Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All.”
Within the Primary School, we will be talking about what peace really means and how we can work together to promote cooperation and respect between all our different cultures.
Some of the activities we have planned involve painting, team work, and working with colourful materials such as chalk and coloured water! As such, we would like all Primary students to come to school on this day, wearing their home clothes, or clothes that can get a little more dirty (or colourful) than usual!
Primary boarding students are therefore asked to organise some additional clothes to bring back to boarding on Sunday or Monday.
There will be a Swim Gala rehearsal in the afternoon on Wednesday, please send your child in with thier swimming costume etc.
Thank you for your support in this and we hope that this upcoming Peace Day will serve as a meaningful and productive day towards respect and cooperation within our school.
